The
Exception Practice Group (EPG) is a by-invitation collection of
dentists founded by Dr Mark Hassed in 2002. The purpose of the EPG
is to share cutting-edge information, motivation and mutual
support.
The
common theme among EPG members is that they all strive for and
achieve excellence in the running of their practices. EPG dentists
must own a private practice and should generate a qualifying level
of fee revenue [2005 level = $850,000] from their own
exertion.
Contrary
to other educational groups where information comes from external
sources, EPG creates value by the sharing that occurs between
members. This brings with it the
duty of members to make significant contributions for the benefit
of fellow members both at the annual conference and on the chat
line. Members are warmly
encouraged to keep in touch with each other by telephone, e-mail
and visiting each other’s practices.
Due to
the commercially sensitive information that may be disclosed by
members there is strict
confidentiality within EPG. Whatever is shared with the group must
stay within the group.
There is
an annual fee for membership of EPG which is payable by 30 June
each year. For this members receive:
- Attendance at the annual
EPG conference.
- Participation in the EPG
chat line.
- The
right to use the EPG logo.
- Access
to the EPG web site.
If a
member is unable to attend the annual conference they may keep
in touch with the group as an associate member by
paying 1/2 the annual fee.
Members
are welcome to bring their spouse/partner with them to the annual
meeting provided that person works (at least part-time) in the
practice.
